A Bridge of Weir pub, formerly known as the Four Elements, had a successful re-opening following an impressive £200K refurbishment and a new name – The Weir.
Owners Punch Taverns have worked closely with Partner, Jason Brown, on a joint investment project to restore the site to its former glory and bring back a much missed venue to the local community.
Partner, Jason, explains: “I’ve lived in the village for 10 years and I thought it was sad to see how the pub had lost its community spirit. So when the opportunity came up I jumped at the chance as I knew the pub well and I knew I could make a difference. I’ve not looked back since!”
The new look involved investing in the public bar, lounge, restaurant, kitchen, garden and exterior, such as repainting and rebranding of the pub. The bar and restaurant were re-varnished, repainted, had new fixtures and fittings and new tables and chairs.
Jason continues: “Since we re-opened during Easter, we’ve had a fantastic response from the local community. It has been so busy we’ve had to turn people away and now customers have to book in advance to visit the restaurant. We are trying to engage the local community by having local bands play every fortnight and holding Open Mic nights for local artists. It has really brought back the community spirit!”
Punch Taverns’ Business Relationship manager, Grainne Hayes adds: “We’re delighted to be working with Jason on the redevelopment of The Weir. Jason and his team have some great plans to deliver a fantastic customer experience and they have our full support.”
